We currently have two programs that we run each year.

·       The Heritage Project: Tiwa Language, Culture, History, and Art.

·       Young Artist Workshop Series – “Art for the Fun of It.”

Both programs are run together during our Summer Camp. “Art for the Fun of It” is also run during our After-School program which takes place in Autumn and Spring on the half days of the Day School on the Pueblo.

The Heritage Project provides the Children and Youth with a Tiwa culturally based curriculum that encourages, supports, and enhances their lives through traditional “lifeskills” such as cooking, gardening, gathering of wild greens, as well as baking in our traditional ovens and pottery with micaceous clay. Our Tiwa Language is used throughout the classes and students are encouraged to use it regularly in class and at home.

The ”Art for the Fun of It” offers a variety of traditional and contemporary art projects for young Children ages 5-12 years. Students’ projects include traditional dollmaking, print making, painting and drawing, dreamcatchers, leather work, beading and much more.

Oo-Oo-Nah Art & Cultural Center offers opportunities in the Arts to the Taos Pueblo community to support, encourage, and enhance their development as artists and craft makers utilizing their skills to help themselves through the sale of their artwork.

Below are some of the pictures from 2024 Summer Camp with Children, Staff, Volunteers and lots of arts and crafts, such as Sticky Art, Blue Corn Tortilla making, Trip to Millicent Rogers Museum of Art, Children playing in Woven Red Willow Basket, Children learning songs in Tiwa, and Artwork done by the Children and Staff.
