“Oo-Oo-Nah” means “Children” in Tiwa, the Language of the Taos Pueblo (Place of The Red Willow People) in northern New Mexico. Oo-Oo-Nah Art & Cultural Center provides the Taos Pueblo Community the gift of traditional and contemporary Arts and Culture to the Children, Youth, Young Adults and Senior Citizens, through our programs: The Heritage Project: Tiwa Language, Culture, History, and Art Program and The Young Artist Workshop Series - “Art for the Fun of It.”

Constantine "Stan" Aiello, a teacher at the Pueblo Day School, had a vision of a place where the Children could go and have fun doing all kinds of arts. Rose Cordova donated the land and Stan began the building of the Center in about 1975. Shortly, before the Grand Opening of the Center in 1985, Stan passed away unexpectedly.

The Center was opened in about 1985 and Marie Reyna became its Director. We became a 501(c)(3) in 2016. After Marie’s passing in 2022, the Staff came back together and reopened the Center with the intention of continuing the programs for the Taos Pueblo Community and especially the Children. The Staff reached out to some of the People around Taos and put together a 5 member Board of Directors, who support and help the Staff/Instructors.
